Kansas has a changing image and people are noticing. K-State's national involvement within the Vet Med arena is attracting the interest of top researchers and animal health professionals. The need to protect agriculture and the public from biological threats has helped K-State to secure millions of dollars in grant and research funding and to provide a home for NBAF. Local business have already benefited from NBAF.
Economic Development in Manhattan has been centered around K-State and Fort Riley. Currently we have 20,059 on active duty now which is double the number from 2005.
